Eva Maria Laino, 19, a pupil of Audrey Rhinehart of North Jackson, presented her senior piano recital July 9 at the Ursuline Educational Center Recital Hall.

Laino, of Canfield, is the daughter of Ronald Laino of Lewisburg, Pa., and Cindy Lanterman of Canfield.

Laino’s accomplishments include performances in the National Federation of Music Clubs for 14 years, during which she received the Presidential Cup as a senior.

Laino also participated in the National Piano Guild for 15 years. As a sophomore she received the Paderewski Award, and this year she received the National Piano Guild High School Diploma in Music. The Ohio Federation of Music Clubs and the National Piano Guild have bestowed monetary gifts to her over the years for her musical achievements and her advanced musical studies.

Laino participated in band and choir all four years of high school. She played flute and was a senior squad leader during marching band season. In the Chambers Choir for Canfield, Laino was an alto and accompanied on the piano for two years. In her junior and senior years, she performed in both plays and a musical. She is a National Honor Society member and a valedictorian of her class.

Laino has plans to attend the University of Mount Union in the fall and to major in pre-veterinary medicine and minor in religious studies and Spanish. Laino received the Presidential Scholarship to the university for her academic accomplishments.
