McDONALD

The McDonald school board has hired Valuation Engineers Inc. of Pittsburgh to inventory board property at a cost of $2,750.

The inventory will include computers, furniture, buses, trucks, tractors, buildings and land owned by the board, school Treasurer Brian Stidham said. The treasurer noted that the state auditor’s office recommends that the inventory be done every other year.

In other business at its meeting Monday, the board approved the disposal of equipment, including computer monitors, printers and other electronic equipment, because it no longer works.

The board also hired the state auditor to audit financial statements for the year ended June 30, 2011, at a cost of $20,920.

The board approved a fund for its members, not to exceed $1,000 a year, to cover expenses incurred by members in performance of their duties.

Josh Krumpak, a special education teacher at the high school, was rehired as special education supervisor under a supplemental contract for $4,000.

The board hired Kathryn Hall as a new half-time high school music teacher at $15,361 under a one-year contract, and also named her band director under a supplemental contract that pays at $4,068.

She replaces Eric Bable, who resigned.
