5-year-old Youngstown girl bitten in face by dog

GIRARD — A 5-year-old girl from Youngstown received 10 stitches above an eye and on her hairline after being bitten by a dog about 10:30 p.m. Saturday at a residence on East Broadway.

The child was with her mother, who stopped by to see a friend. The dog, a German shepherd/lab mix, became agitated when the child’s puppy ran around. The dog is current with shots and license. The Girard Health Department will contact the owner.
