Promoted to lieutenant

Lt. Jerad R. Sutton recently was promoted to that rank at a ceremony at the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Academy. Sutton will remain at his current assignment at the Ashtabula Post to serve as post commander.

Sutton began his patrol career in June 1999. He earned his commission in December of that year and was assigned to the Hiram Post. Sutton transferred to the Warren Post in December 2001, where he was named Post Trooper of the Year in 2004, earned the Criminal Patrol Award in 2002 and 2003 and an Ace Award in 2003.

He was promoted to the rank of sergeant and transferred to the Medina Post to serve as assistant post commander in October 2004. In May 2005, Sutton transferred to his current assignment at the Ashtabula Post, where he earned a Criminal Patrol Award that same year.

Sutton lives in Farmdale in Trumbull County with his wife, Amy, and their two children, Analyse, 7, and Sophia, 2.
