Officials with Mountain State University and Community College of Beaver County have entered into a leasing agreement that will move MSU’s Center Township campus within the community college’s main campus.

The official agreement was finalized recently during a CCBC Board of Trustees meeting.

“There has been cooperation between CCBC and Mountain State since they first began operations in Beaver County,” said Joe D. Forrester, CCBC president.

“Many of our students and staff have taken advantage of the partnership between our institutions, and having MSU on campus seems a natural extension of cooperation that has already been developed between our institutions. Their presence will certainly be advantageous to our students seeking to remain on campus at CCBC while having a chance to complete their degree.”

Mountain State University President and CEO Charles H. Polk concurred and feels that it is a great opportunity for area students.

“Locating MSU-Center Township on the campus of the Community College of Beaver County is a natural fit for MSU’s mission to provide an accessible education,” he said.

“This relationship between MSU and CCBC will provide MSU students access to more resources and CCBC students options for continuing their education with a baccalaureate degree.”

The move, slated to occur in late spring, will provide MSU with expanded space including six classrooms, nine offices, a computer lab and a large reception area.

An official opening will be announced at a later date.
