Area schools schedule kindergarten sign-ups

Registration for children entering Poland Local Schools this fall will be March 5 and March 12.

Registration will be from 9 a.m. to noon both days at Union Elementary School, 30 Riverside Drive.

Registration for students entering Holy Family School this fall is at 9 a.m. Feb. 1 in the school office. There is a $25 registration fee that is nonrefundable.

For children entering the Newton Falls school district, registration is from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Feb. 14 and Feb. 15 and from 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. from March 21 through March 25.

Poland Schools require the child’s original, raised seal birth certificate and Social Security card. A copy of the birth certificate are acceptable at Holy Family.

Newton Falls asks for the legal birth certificate.

All of the schools require the child’s immunization records to be presented at the time of registration.

Both Poland and Newton Falls also require proof of residency and custody papers if applicable. Poland also requires parent identification.

The child’s baptismal record is required at Holy Family if the child wasn’t baptized at Holy Family Church and Holy Family also requires all of the forms in its registration packet (which will be picked up at the time of registration) to be completed and submitted.
