YOUNGSTOWN
A Mahoning County grand jury handed up indictments Thursday, including one for a North Side woman accused of breaking into a South Side restaurant and bar armed with a gun New Year’s Day.
Amber Grimm, 26, of Madison Avenue, has been indicted on two counts aggravated burglary. One of the aggravated-burglary charges carries a firearm specification, meaning she is believed to have displayed or used a firearm while committing the crime.
The events leading to Grimm’s arrest are believed to have been anger over her refusal to be allowed in the Dragon Palace restaurant and bar late New Year’s Eve.
Grimm, according to police reports, told officers she had gone to the bar and was refused entry because she is white. She told police she became angry and armed herself with a handgun before breaking out a window to the bar, entering the facility and firing shots.
