The trial date for Karen M. Adams, a Masury woman charged with one count of murder with a gun specification, three counts of felonious assault and one charge of tampering with evidence, has been moved back to May 23.

Her trial had been set for Monday.

Adams, 30, of Stateline Road, is accused of firing a gun at Robert Flynn, 15, and three other youths early Aug. 10, 2009. One bullet hit Flynn in the head, killing him.

Flynn and the others had gone to the home Adams shared with Paul Sundy Jr., 41, about 2:30 a.m. after a dispute developed involving a teenage boy and Sundy, regarding Sundy’s teen daughter. The boys had baseball bats with them.

At a hearing Wednesday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court, Judge W. Wyatt McKay scheduled a hearing for 9 a.m. May 6 to address questions relating to the use of expert witnesses at Adams’ trial. Adams is free on bond.

Sundy, who also is free on bond, is scheduled to go on trial Feb. 28 before Judge Andrew Logan on charges of tampering with evidence and obstructing justice.
