Ohio development director outlines Kasich's JobsOhio plan

COLUMBUS (AP) — Ohio’s new economic development chief says Gov. John Kasich’s new private job creation board of business leaders would make public key information.

Development Director Mark Kvamme assured House members that includes publicizing staff salaries and bonuses and requiring the nine members of the JobsOhio board to comply with a conflict of interest policy and file financial disclosure statements.

In the first committee hearing on the proposal Monday, some House members were skeptical. Representatives wanted to know whether the members’ businesses will be eligible for the grants the panel doles out and why only four public meetings a year will be held.

Kwamme said he will present more specific recommendations on how the panel will operate in four to six months.
