NY dad of baby taken 2 decades ago: Reunion ‘hard’

NEW YORK (AP) — The father of a baby snatched from a New York City hospital 23 years ago says the adjustment of meeting his grown daughter has been hard.

Carl Tyson says he’s happy to have found his daughter, Carlina White.

He tells NBC’s “Today” show that he now has the “whole puzzle,” all four of his kids.

But he admitted he didn’t know what he’s supposed to be doing with a 23-year old. He joked: “Should I be feeding her baby food?”

Ann Pettway, the North Carolina woman who raised White, is scheduled to appear in Manhattan federal court today to face kidnapping charges.

Tyson said he’d like an opportunity to ask Pettway “why she did this to me for 23 years.”

Pettway surrendered to authorities on Sunday, days after White was reunited with her biological parents.
