WARREN

Free classes in web design, board development, marketing and letter-writing are being offered to nonprofit organizations through a grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Warren Strengthening Community Project, a non-profit organization that began in October 2009, is using the grant money to provide the classes, said Sandy Sell, program coordinator. The city of Warren applied for the funds.

Most classes will be at Kent State University Trumbull Campus in Champion.

February classes are:

Why-How-Go! Introduction to Web Design — 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 8.

Board Development — 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Feb. 10.

Marketing Your Non Profit — 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. Feb. 17.

Writing Lab, Letters of Inquiry — 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 22.

More than 30 classes are scheduled for 2011. Preregistration, required for all classes, can be done by visiting www.warrenstrengtheningcommunity.com. Classes are open to the public.
