Book offers hope for abused women

“Woman Of Excellence: Not Without A Struggle,” by Carolyn Bell Murphy, is about a woman who overcame a long list of struggles, and after almost 40 years of abuse became a great advocate for women in domestic-abuse situations and domestic violence.

The author received a bachelor’s degree in religious and social studies from Youngstown State University and studied at Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pa. She received the first Visionary Award for community efforts from Bowie State University in Maryland.

Murphy says she grew up in a loving, sheltered home and being a Christian was just what the word meant. At age 17, she went away to college and was introduced to a world that she didn’t know existed. It was a rude awakening.

“Woman of Excellence: Not Without a Struggle” was published in paperback by Authorhouse. The book contains the tools for building a new life and enhancing the total woman. For additional information, call 301-599-6932, e-mail loracjmurphy@aol.com or visit www.womenofexcellencewas.org.
