Chili cook-off

Boardman United Methodist Missions Committee will have the “Sue Hernan Memorial Chili Cook-off” on Sunday.

Sue Hernan was chairwoman of the missions committee for the past four years. She died Aug. 1 in a drowning accident at Berlin Lake while saving her two grandchildren.

The chili cook-off was one of Hernan’s projects, and it has been renamed in her honor. The event is from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the church, 6809 Market St. Admission is $5 for adults and $2 for children under 10, and proceeds will benefit mission works around the world. Parking ban

A parking ban that began at 6 p.m. Thursday will continue until 6 p.m. Saturday. The township’s road superintendent has asked that all vehicles be removed from roads so that the department can clear the streets of snow.

Wireless Internet

YOUNGSTOWN

Youngstown State University is working with AT&T to provide the campus community with access to AT&T wireless Internet service.

Wi-Fi will be available in the university’s public areas, including Kilcawley Center and the new Williamson Hall. The new network will supplement the wireless network that the university provides to all university staff, faculty and students with visitor wireless-Internet access.

Faculty, staff, students and campus visitors with qualifying AT&T smartphone, 3G LaptopConnect and high-speed Internet plans can access AT&T Wi-Fi on campus at no additional charge. Other visitors can access AT&T Wi-Fi by purchasing a day pass.
