Historical house tours end until May
GIRARD
The Barnhisel House, operated by Girard Historical Society, 1011 N. State St., is closed for the winter. It will reopen in May with tours from 1 to 4 p.m. the second and fourth Sunday of each month.
Those interested in having a meeting, birthday party, shower or other event when the house is closed should call 330-545-6559 or 330-545-6162 to make arrangements.
The society meets at 10:30 a.m. the first Saturday of the month at Girard Free Library, 105 E. Prospect St.
The 2011 calendar is now on sale for $6 at Gorant Candies, Girard library, Karen’s Joy Vintage Shop or by calling the contact numbers.
Falls recall election

The election to determine whether 4th Ward Newton Falls Councilman Jim Luonuansuu will be recalled will be Feb. 8.
The date for potential candidates to submit 35 or more petition signatures to the Trumbull County Board of Elections to get on the ballot is Wednesday, said Jodi Fiorenzo Dibble, deputy director of the elections board. So far, no candidates have filed petitions for the seat.
