Police say two officers fatally shot an armed man who was causing a disturbance at a gas station convenience store in this Cleveland suburb.
The Cuyahoga County coroner’s office identifies the man as 50-year-old Sylvester Gavin. The office did not release his hometown.
The Plain Dealer in Cleveland reports store employees called police Friday evening, saying a man was stealing items and was drinking alcohol.
Capt. Robert Sackett tells the newspaper the man had multiple weapons, including a pole carried on his back and a weapon he waved that was similar to a billy club.
