SCOUTS

Eagle Scout Award

Chris Fortunato, a son of Lou and Cheryl Fortunato of North Jackson, recently was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout at a court-of-honor ceremony at First Federated Church in North Jackson.

He was a member of Cub Scout Pack 105, where he attained the Arrow of Light, Cub Scouting’s highest rank. Bill Clark was his scoutmaster for the majority of his scouting career.

Chris has held the positions of senior patrol leader, assistant senior patrol leader, patrol leader and quartermaster and has served as den chief for several years. He is an assistant scoutmaster and works summers at Beaumont Scout Reservation in the aquatics areas as a certified lifeguard. He earned 21 merit badges.

His Eagle Scout service project was to create a high-school cross-country course at Jackson-Milton school campus. He cleared trails and created water crossings that incorporated the current nature trail in the layout.

Chris is a senior at Jackson-Milton High School, where he lettered in track and cross country. He also attends Mahoning County Career and Technical Center in Canfield.
