Youngstown gymnasts win team, individual honors

More than 300 gymnasts competed at the annual USAG-sanctioned meet Jan. 15-16 at Youngstown Gymnastics Center. The meet was open to girls and boys levels three through 10 as well as prep optionals.

Several gymnasts from the Youngstown squad eanrned top honors at the event.

MacKenzie Acierno received third AA L4. Level five awards went to Katelyn Arnett, who was first in AA and Anna Primavera and Annabelle Day placed second.

Level six honors went to Jackie Harker, Kirsten Appel and Tamsin Day, who took second place in AA. Ashley Jones came in third.

Lauren Manski and Mya Kasten took first in AA in the level seven awards. Jeneca Shar and Gabby Williams placed second, while Gigi Delullo and Jamie Sklenar came in third.

Level eight winners were Faith Anderson with first place in AA and second-place winner Rachel Gurgiolo.

Level nine awards went to winner Allie Anderson, Anna Warhol, who took second place, and Jenae Shar and Jennifer Sklenar, who were third.

Jessica Jones was first in Level 10 AA and Stacia Ruse was second.

The Level six, seven, and nine teams took home the first-place team awards.
