Stewart leads Poland swimmers at districts

Neighbors | Submitted.Six Poland swimmers competed at last weekend's Division II district swim meet at Cleveland State University.

Junior Becca Stewart set two new school records, leading a group of six Poland swimmers as they competed at last weekend’s district meet at Cleveland State University.

Stewart finished 22nd overall in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:06.64. The mark broke her own school record.

In the 500-yard free, she placed 17th overall and broke her own school record with a new time of 5:36.50.

Junior Kayleigh Lavorini finished 29th overall at districts in the 200 IM with a time of 2:32.08. Senior Ian Harker took 14th overall with a time of 1:07.05 in the 100 breaststroke.

Accompanying the three to districts were the girls 200 and 400 free relay team members senior Elise Hurtuk, senior Stephanie Andrews and sophomore Jaci Mullally. The 200 relay squaad of Lavorini, Hurtuk, Andrews and Stewart finished 18th overall with a time of 1:50.02.

The 400 team of Mullally, Hurtuk, Andrews and Lavorini dropped nearly 7 seconds off their time at sectionals to finish 17th at districts. Their time was 4:09.11.
