YSU linebacker David Rach, who would have been a senior next fall, has decided to leave the football team.
Rach, a South Range High graduate, started all 11 games last fall and was third on the team with 64 tackles, second on the team in tackles for loss (five), first in fumbles recovered (two) and tied for first in sacks (two).
Rach chose to leave for personal reasons and will remain on scholarship through the spring, although he will not participate in spring practice. YSU's coaches had planned to shift Rach down to defensive end for next season.
The decision was not football related, a source said.
