A fire at a home in northeast Ohio has left two men dead and a 77-year-old woman seriously hurt.

The Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office says a woman called 911 Saturday morning to report the fire at her home in the town of Nevada.

The sheriff’s office says the men who died were an 86-year-old man who lived at the home and a 35-year-old man found on the basement stairway. The woman was flown to a hospital in Columbus, where she remained in serious condition today.

The preliminary investigation determined the fire started in the basement and then spread.

Officials say a Jeep belonging to the younger man was found stuck in the mud at the edge of a nearby field.
