BANKING

Home Savings has hired one new employee and promoted two others. Colleen Scott was hired as vice president of marketing, while Brooks D. McDowell and Troy Adair were promoted to vice president of secondary markets and vice president of accounting and finance, respectively.

Scott joins Home Savings from Day Air Credit Union in Dayton, where she served as marketing director. Scott received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Toledo.

In his new position, McDowell will oversee the bank division that includes buying, selling and pricing mortgage loans, interest rate hedging and investor relations. Before coming to Home Savings as assistant vice president of secondary markets in 2009, McDowell was a financial analyst with SIRVA Mortgage and Forest City Enterprises. He is a graduate of John Carroll University.

Adair is responsible for forecasting, budgeting, cost accounting and management of assets and liabilities. He joined Home Savings in 2002. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Kent State and a master’s in business administration from Cleveland State.

CONSULTING

Cowden Associates, a consulting and actuary firm in Pittsburgh, Pa., has hired two employees. Robert W. Hazy was hired as a senior consultant and actuary, and Leah A. Brown was hired as an analyst.

Hazy brings to his new position expertise in retirement planning and pension accounting, among other subjects. He comes to Cowden after 25 years at Mercer, a global actuary firm. Hazy attended Case Western Reserve, from which he received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics.

Brown will work as an analyst in the company’s health and benefits, compensation and retirement practice areas. She received a bachelor’s degree from Ohio University.

COMMUNICATIONS

The Marcellus Shale Coalition has hired three new staff members. Steve Forde was hired as policy and communications director. Christopher Heck was hired as membership services director. Helen Goodman was hired as conference director.

The Marcellus Shale Coalition is a Canonsburg, Pa.-based organization representing more than 165 companies that extract natural gas from the Marcellus Shale.

Forde previously was senior director of corporate communications for Education Management Corporation. He has also worked as communications director for Rep. John Boehner, R-OH, and for the House Education Workforce Committee. He graduated from Xavier University and has a master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University.

Heck was previously vice president and relationship manager at Fifth Third Bank. He graduated from Florida Atlantic University.

Goodman founded Event Resources, a Pittsburgh, Pa.-based conference and events-management company. She worked at Event Resources for about 20 years. Goodman has a degree from Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh.

PHARMACY

Rite Aid Pharmacy has hired Kelley Ann Gallagher as a staff pharmacist. Gallagher is a recent graduate of Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pa., where she received a doctor of pharmacy degree. Gallagher also received her bachelor’s and two master’s degrees from Youngstown State University.
