Spartan Dug-Out Club hosts fundraiser


Boardman High School Baseball’s Spartan Dug-Out Club will host its annual “Night at the Races” fundraiser Friday at the Operators Engineer Hall on McClurg Avenue in Boardman.

Doors open at 6:45 p.m. and post time will be at 8 p.m.

Along with racing action, the club will have several silent auction items available for bids. Items include a $600 Encore office chair, third row tickets to an upcoming Cleveland Cavaliers game, Cleveland Indians tickets, including Terrace Club passes, and jewelry from Kay Jewelers.

New Spartans head coach Bob Beam will be on hand to talk about the upcoming season and will introduce his entire coaching staff to the community.

Tickets are $10 per person and includes an all-you-can-eat buffet provided by Gia Russa, soft drinks or beer, as well as dessert.
