The first- and second-graders who make up Pack 25 had very unique questions to ask firefighters Brian Charles and John Carbon as they toured the Canfield fire station on Feb. 9.

“Can we drive to Canada in the truck?” asked Christopher Altiere.

“Can we swing this giant hammer?” piped in Lorenzo Sprocket.

For the record, the answers were — no and no.

During the tour, the cubs were given a thorough exploration of the staff quarters and the important areas of the fire truck.

Charles then tried on his firefighting gear and explained unique parts of Canfield’s suits: An alarm on each firefighter’s air tank which will ring if they were to stop moving.

When Charles hooked up his air tank, the cubs continued with their colorful commentary.

“You sound like Darth Vader,” they observed with laughter.

After the tour and a few minutes in the front seat for each scout, the boys shared what they appreciated about the tour.

“Getting in the truck was the best part,” J.T. Palmer said.

“I really liked the guy that looked like Darth Vader,” shared Landon Beidelschies. “Except this is a Darth Vader I won’t be nervous about if he’s in my house.”
