Stocks little changed in early going
NEW YORK (AP) — Stocks are little changed in early trading on a day with little expected in the way of economic reports or corporate earnings announcements.
Major indexes have risen steadily this month. The Dow Jones industrial average has fallen on only three trading days in February. The Dow is up 0.4 percent this week. The S&P 500 is up 0.8 percent for the week.
Finance officials are meeting today in Paris to discuss the global economy. Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke said that currency imbalances could lead to another fiscal crisis.
In early trading, the Dow is down 1 point, or less than 0.1 percent, to 12,316. The S&P 500 is unchanged at 1,340. The Nasdaq composite is up less than a point at 2,832.
