Plumber finds Pa. woman's $10K wedding ring flushed down toilet

CRANBERRY, Pa. (AP) — A western Pennsylvania woman says a persistent plumber helped her recover a $10,000 wedding ring she flushed down her toilet on Valentine’s Day.

Steve Cirigliano, a plumber with Mr. Rooter, tells the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette it took about three hours to find the ring for Kristen Kalis by vacuuming the contents of an outside sewer trap on Tuesday.

Kalis says she forgot to take her rings off when she went to bed, but remembered to do so about 4 a.m. Monday when she was up with her infant daughter. She dropped the ring while flushing the toilet.

Her husband, former Pittsburgh Steelers player Todd Kalis, told her to accept the loss, but Kristen Kalis spent Monday and Tuesday before finding a willing plumber.

Kalis says, “Between God and Mr. Rooter, my prayers were answered.”
