NY man pleads guilty to role in hotel heir killing

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (AP) — Federal prosecutors say a New York City man has admitted being the wheelman in the killing of Florida millionaire Ben Novack Jr. at a suburban New York hotel in 2009.

Denis Ramirez pleaded guilty Thursday to conspiracy and domestic violence charges. He could be sentenced to life in prison.

Prosecutor Elliott Jacobson says Ramirez drove two Florida men to the Hilton hotel in Rye Brook, N.Y., on July 12, 2009, for what Ramirez believed would be an assault and robbery.

Jacobson says Novack’s widow, Narcy Novack, let the two men into the Novacks’ hotel room, where the men beat him to death. Narcy Novack denies allegations that she arranged the killing.

Ramirez’s attorney, Ismael Gonzalez, said Friday that he did not know whether his client would be cooperating with prosecutors.
