John Williams reschedules Pittsburgh concert

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Academy Award-winning composer John Williams has rescheduled his guest shot as conductor of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.

Williams was supposed to lead the orchestra at Pittsburgh’s Heinz Hall on Nov. 9 but pulled out with a back injury. He’s rescheduled that appearance for June 24.

Williams has composed the scores to some of the biggest box-office movie hits in history, including “Jaws,” “E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial” and the “Star Wars” movies.

Ticket holders for the originally scheduled “John Williams & The Music of the Movies” performance will have first priority to buy tickets to the rescheduled concert starting Feb. 24. Any remaining tickets will go on sale to the general public April 4.
