Borders closings include 6 in Ohio

COLUMBUS

Six Borders book superstores in Ohio are among the roughly 200 being closed nationwide by the chain, which has filed for bankruptcy protection.

Borders’ list of store closings includes two Columbus locations, one in Dayton, two in the Cincinnati area and one in the Cleveland area.

The company says it’s losing about $2 million a day at the stores it plans to close.

Fed is moving ahead on revamp

WASHINGTON

Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke says the central bank is working closely with other regulators to implement the biggest overhaul of the nation’s financial rules since the 1930s.

The law enacted last year aims to protect the country from another financial crisis like the one that hit with force in 2008 and plunged the economy into a deep recession.

Bernanke is scheduled to deliver a progress report on the law’s implementation to Congress today.
