Ball field named for young shooting victim

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — The youngest victim of the Tucson shootings is being honored with a Little League baseball field named in her honor.

Nine-year-old Christina-Taylor Green was among the six killed at a congressional meet-and-greet last month.

The field is where she played second base for her Little League team.

Christina’s family is expected to throw out the first pitch when the season begins April 1.

Pima County, which includes Tucson, is naming a county park after Christina.

And President Barack Obama plans to sign a bill today to name a new courthouse in Yuma after John M. Roll, the federal judge killed in the shootings.

U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was one of the 13 wounded in the attack.
