Guard Eric Coblentz scored all of his game-high 13 points in the first half to go with three assists and three rebounds for the Pioneers (18-10, 11-5), who secured a berth in next week’s American Mideast Conference tournament. Forward Ebiowei Porbeni followed with 12 points, seven rebounds and two blocked shots and forward Cory Veldhuizen added 10 points and six boards for Malone, which raced out to a 34-15 halftime lead. Forward Curtis McClure paced the Falcons (10-18, 5-11) with 12 points while forward Eric Dummermuth, who entered the contest as the AMC’s top scorer and second-leading rebounder, was held to nine points and nine boards. The Pioneers can earn a first-round home game with a win on Thursday in their 5:30 p.m. home contest against Cedarville.
