6 treated for carbon monoxide in Pittsburgh home

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Six people, including three children, have been taken to the hospital for treatment of carbon monoxide poisoning in their Pittsburgh home.

Emergency officials have not released the names of the victims, but say they include children who are 1, 3 and 5 years old, and their mother, who is eight months pregnant.

Emergency crews were called to the home just after 1 a.m. today after the children became sick.

Crews from Equitable Gas were also called and utility crews say there is a combustion problem with the home’s boiler. Gas service has also been shut off to the home.

The victims are expected to recover.
