Tigers tame Devils; Williams tops 1,000

Brad Ferraro scored 13 points to lead the Springfield High boys basketball team to a 59-39 victory over Lisbon on Monday night.

Nick Russell scored 11 points and Ronnie Rogers 10 for the Tigers (13-5, 11-3 Inter-Tri-County League Tier One)

For the Blue Devils (3-14, 3-11), Zach Rovnak scored 12 points and Matt Metzgar 10.

GIRLS Howland 76, Conneaut 45

HOWLAND

Taylor Williams’ triple double included 24 points as she became Howland’s first junior to reach 1,000 points. She now has 1,001 career points.

Williams also made 12 rebounds and blocked 10 shots for the Tigers (18-1).

Olivia Nicholas had 13 points and made eight assists. Paige Loychik and Erika Nites each scored 12 points.

For Conneaut (10-9), Brittany Johnson scored 17 points and made eight rebounds while Marissa Olmstead scored 10 points.

Poland 45, Campbell 15

POLAND

Maura Bobby led the Bulldogs (13-7) with 14 points in their regular-season finale.

Adriana Sikora contributed eight rebounds, five steals and four points while Emily Rollo and Abbie Frank each scored seven points.

For the Red Devils (1-18), Tiera Graves scored 10 points and made two steals and three rebounds.

Boardman 80, Streetsboro 23

BOARDMAN

Brooke Meenachan, Kayleigh Lipke and Genna Kuczek scored 19, 12 and 10 points respectively for the Spartans (8-11).

Boardman jumped out to a 24-6 lead after eight minutes and it was 39-8 at the break.

Streetsboro shot just 7-for-44 from the floor.

McDonald 51, Sebring 41

SEBRING

Taylor Stanley led the Blue Devils (9-10, 8-6 ITCL Tier Two) with 18 points.

Dani Novak scored 11 while Paige Eckman and Jamie Stellmar had nine apiece.

For the Trojans (11-7, 8-6), Taylor Ward scored 11 and Kayie Butler 10.

Leetonia 45, Southern 33

SALINEVILLE

Clarissa Perkins’ 13 points led Leetonia, which had 11 of its 23 rebounds on the offensive boards.

Ashley Russell’s 12 points paced Southern.
