Poland man sentenced for possessing child porn

CLEVELAND

A Poland man has been sentenced to 6 1/2 years in federal prison, followed by 10 years of supervised release, after he pleaded guilty to receiving and possessing visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

Richard E. Heinz, 51, of Hamilton Avenue, drew the sentence Tuesday from U.S. District Judge Dan Aaron Polster, who ordered him to surrender at noon March 1 to the U.S. marshal or to the federal prison where he’ll serve his time.

Heinz admitted using the Internet to download images of child pornography between Jan. 5, 2007, and Feb. 13, 2009.

Thousands of images were found on his desktop computers and CD and DVD discs, the U.S. Attorney said.

The case was investigated by the Youngstown FBI office.
