Police investigate Girard shooting

Police are investigating a shooting Tuesday afternoon the sent one man to the hospital with an abdominal wound.

The victim, a 39-year-old resident of Girard, was shot at his residence at 118 W. Liberty St. and transported to St. Elizabeth’s Health Center, according to a press release.

The hospital still has not released any word on the victim’s condition.

Police are still investigating the events that led to the shooting.
