A checklist of local, state and federal institutions and local businesses closed various days for the Christmas holiday. Residents of communities not listed should check their governmental office schedules.
City offices: Youngstown, Warren, Niles, Salem and Sharon and Newton Falls Municipal Court, all closed Monday; New Castle, closed at 11 a.m. Friday and closed Monday.
County offices: Mahoning, Columbiana and Mercer, all closed Monday; Trumbull, closed Friday and Monday; and Lawrence, closed Friday, Monday and Tuesday.
State and federal offices: Closed Monday.
Mail delivery: None Monday.
Schools: Youngstown and New Castle, closed Friday through Jan. 2; Warren, closed through Jan. 2; Niles, Salem, Sharon and Youngstown Diocese, closed today through Jan. 2.
Universities: Youngstown State, business offices closed Friday and Monday; Kent State Trumbull, closed Saturday through Jan. 2.
Western Reserve Transit Authority: Closed Monday.
Public libraries: Youngstown-Mahoning County, Warren- Trumbull, Hubbard Public Library and Newton Falls Public Library, all closed Saturday through Monday; and Kinsman Free Public Library, Girard Free Library, Bristol Public Library and McKinley Memorial Library, Niles, all closed Friday through Monday;
Stock market: Stifel Nicolaus, closed Monday.
Banks: Chase Bank, Charter One, Cortland Banks, Farmers National Bank, First National Bank, Home Federal Savings & Loan in Niles, Home Savings & Loan, Huntington Bank in Austintown, Key Bank, PNC Ohio, PNC Pennsylvania and US Bank in Poland, Boardman, Canfield and Warren area, all closed Monday. First Place Bank branches in Austintown, Howland, Liberty and Struthers closing at 1 p.m. Saturday, all other branches close at noon Saturday, all locations closed Monday.
Trash collection: Allison Brothers Inc., Allied Waste, Waste Management, Warren City Environmental Services and Waste-Tech Services, all regular schedule Monday.
