Mahoning-Youngstown Community Action Partnership, 101 E. Federal St., Suite 200, continues to accept appointments for the Emergency Home Energy Assistance Winter Crisis Program.

Applicants must call 866-223-1125 to make an appointment.

A limited amount of walk-in traffic will be accepted starting at 8 a.m. and are for those whose service has been disconnected and those with less than 25 percent supply of bulk fuel.

People whose service has been disconnected must call the utility company and set up service.

Those whose service is off, but is being turned back on, must pay a $35 reconnect fee before coming to the MYCAP office.

Emergency HEAP provides help to low-income households where the utility service has been disconnected.

A maximum, one-time payment of up to $175 is allowed under the program to restore or retain services. Bulk-fuel households are eligible for up to $750.

The program runs through March 31.

If service is not in disconnect status, applications for Ohio’s regular Home Energy Assistance Program are available at locations in Mahoning County.

People also are urged to apply for home energy services (weatherization).

Call MYCAP at 330-747-7921, ext. 1128.
