Warren Family Mission’s community Christmas meal will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday at 361 Elm Road NE. Every child under age 13 will receive a gift. CCMK Block Watch

YOUNGSTOWN

C.C.M.K. Block Watch will have a special meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in St. Patrick Church social hall, 1420 Oak Hill Ave., where Cynthia Wright-Palmer will discuss Mahoning County Healthy Homes/Lead Hazard Program that offers grants up to $10,000 to homeowners to make their homes lead-free.

Light holiday refreshments will be served. The block watch covers Cleveland, Chalmers, Marian and Kenmore streets.

Amateur radio class

Current technician-class amateur radio operators can work toward their general class license during the Western Reserve Amateur Radio Club’s training session Jan. 4 through the test session Feb. 15, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Mahoning County EMA, 700 Industrial Road. Blood drive

ALLIANCE

Alliance Community Hospital will host a blood drive at the American Legion on West Main Street from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday. Donors will receive a coupon for a free Perkins pie, and raffles for gift baskets and gift certificates from local businesses such as Dunkin Donuts, Monro Muffler and Brake, Anthony’s restaurant and Holiday Inn will take place hourly.

Historically, blood collections drop during the holiday season but the need for the Red Cross Northern Ohio Region to collect 900 pints daily remains constant.

Donors must be at least 17, weigh no less than 110 pounds, and be in general good health. A photo ID or donor card must be presented at the time of the donation.
