Lordstown plant’s shutdown to continue

LORDSTOWN

General Motors Co. Lordstown will not resume production tonight as originally planned.

The plant, which produces the Chevrolet Cruze, has been on hiatus since Monday afternoon because of a “supplier issue” relating to struts.

Production was expected to begin with Thursday’s third shift, but after further testing of those parts, it was determined the plant is not ready to begin production.

Strut testing will continue.

It is not yet known when the plant will resume production.
