Italian festival seeks applicants

Youngstown

The Greater Youngstown Italian Fest — July 29, 30 and 31 in downtown Youngstown — is accepting applications for the Italian Man and Woman of the Year.

Applications for scholarships are also available. Applicants must be students at Youngstown State University. One scholarship will be for a nursing student who will be attending YSU.

Deadline for all applicants is June 1. For information, call Arlene DeChellis at 330-726-8019.

Dance champions in performance

Fred Astaire Dance Studio will host Victor DaSilva and Hanna Karttunen, World Professional and British Open champions, at 7 p.m. May 13.

Jazz brunch at Stambaugh

A New Orleans jazz brunch will begin at noon May 15 in Christman Hall at Stambaugh Auditorium, 1000 Fifth Ave., part of the Sundays and Stambaugh series.
