TORONTO

Emilio Renteria scored on a header in the 49th minute to help Columbus tie Toronto. Tony Tchani scored for Toronto in the 41st minute, but was given a second yellow card after the goal, apparently for jumping over the advertising boards to celebrate with the fans. The goal ended Columbus’ team-record shutout streak at 414 minutes and Toronto’s scoring drought at 284 minutes. Columbus is 2-1-3, and Toronto is 1-2-4.

Chivas USA 2, Earthquakes 1

SANTA CLARA, Calif.

Mariano Trujillo scored off a rebound in the 85th minute to seal Chivas USA’s first victory. Trujillo slammed home a loose ball after Jon Busch made a right-handed save on Justin Braun’s shot. The victory ended Chivas’ drought that stretched eight matches, including three last season. Chivas (1-2-3), the last MLS team to win this season, is unbeaten in its last four matches.

Revolution 3, Sporting Kansas City 2

FOXBOROUGH, Mass.

Danish newcomer Rajko Lekic broke a tie in the 83rd minute with his first MLS goal in New England’s comeback victory. Playing his second match since being signed from Silkeborg, Lekic headed in a cross from Zak Boggs on the right wing. Lekic had 76 goals in 121 games for Silkeborg. The Revolution (2-2-3) played with a man advantage over the final 14 minutes after Aurelian Collin was red-carded for interfering with Matt Reis while the goalkeeper covered a corner kick.

FC Dallas 2, Whitecaps 1

VANCOUVER, British Columbia

George John and Eric Avila scored in the second half for FC Dallas. John tied it in the 53rd minute, and Avila gave Dallas (2-3-1) the lead in the 83rd. Alain Rochat scored in the 25th minute for Vancouver (1-3-3).
