The children competed against more than 250 students in grades four through six in the Eastern Ohio Council of Teachers of Mathematics events.

There were four rounds of problems solving in five categories, including geometry, numbers, number relations, data analysis, probability, calculators and mental math. Each participant had 12 minutes to complete each round and students with the top three scores in each category within their grade level received an award.
