Mahoning Democrats collecting anti-SB5 petition signatures

The Mahoning County Democratic Party will start collecting signatures Saturday for a proposed referendum on the November ballot to repeal a new law that restricts collective-bargaining rights for public employees.

Those wanting to sign the petitions can do so by going to party headquarters, 3321 Mahoning Ave. in Youngstown, every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. until early June.

Those wanting to be trained as to how to circulate petitions to repeal the new law can go to party headquarters today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Also, We Are Ohio, the organization spearheading the effort, will hold a training session from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Lemon Grove Cafe, 122 W. Federal St. in Youngstown.
