Police may charge man in traffic accident that disrputed power on East Side
YOUNGSTOWN — Police are contemplating filing charges against the driver in an accident over the weekend that knocked out power to hundreds of East Side homes.
Patricia Garcar, police traffic investigator, Michael Crytzer, 36, of Youngstown was traveling down Albert Street at 5 p.m. Sunday when he struck a utility pole. The pole was knocked from its base and eliminated power to several East Side residents.
Garcar said police believe alcohol was a factor in the accident and charges may be filed against Crytzer. Police are waiting on results from a blood-alcohol test.
Crytzer was treated at an area hospital for minor injuries. His 12-year-old son, however, remains hospitalized, police said. There was no word on his condition today.
