HOWLAND

Deveon Smith had 14 carries for 139 yards and three touchdowns to lead Howland to an undefeated season by defeating Chaney, 35-6, on Friday night.

Smith got Howland on the board just 30 seconds into the game with a 44 yard run.

Smith would score again at the halfway point in the first quarter on a 19 yard run. Receiver Dominic Termine’s only reception on the night was a 29-yard pass from Tim Parana that would give the Tigers a 21-0 lead after one quarter.

Smith’s final touchdown would be a 3 yard run with 6:11 left in the third. Parana would connect with Brandon Neilan for a 15 yard touchdown to make it 35-0 Howland after three quarters.

Parana finished the night going 6 of 10 for 78 yards and two touchdowns, while Neilan had seven carries for 60 yards and caught four passes for 30 yards.

Hubbard 42, Niles 14

HUBBARD

Mike Lopuchovsky’s three total offensive touchdowns would be enough for Hubbard (8-2).

Lopuchovsky scored on a 3-yard run in the late in first, but Niles quarterback Zack Bailey would answer with a 5-yard pass to Mike Watson to make it 7-7 after one.

Lopuchovsky would complete a 24 yard pass to Tyler Duez late in the second to give Hubbard a 14-7 lead at the half.

Danny Duvall and Lopuchovsky each scored rushing touchdowns of 3 and 4 yards, respectively in the third quarter, while Blake Novotny and Brandon Harb would do the same in the fourth quarter.

Lopuchovksy finished with 16 carries for 82 yards, while Novotny had 12 carries for 97 yards.

Hamilton Robinson scored the Red Dragons’ (3-7) other touchdown late in the fourth quarter.

Newton Falls 38, Grand Valley 13

Details of this game were not reported.

Newton Falls, which suffered through injuries to many of its starting lineip, finished the season with a 2-8 record.

Grand Valley of the East Suburban Conference finished 8-2.
