A 19-year-old man was shot four times in the legs in front of an apartment at 640 Griffith Street at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

The man, who was visiting his sister, walked into the apartment after the shooting and fell to the floor, his sister said.

The victim said two men approached him and punched him in the head and body first, then kicked him all over, according to police.

While the victim tried to cover his face, a third man fired four shots at him from about 15 feet away, he said.

On Saturday evening, St. Elizabeth Health Center said it had no record of the victim.

Police believe the victim had just been released from Mercer County jail Friday night.
