WEDNESDAY

Boar’s Head Ladies of St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown, will sponsor a chicken dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the church. The menu will include salad, mashed potatoes and gravy, bread and butter, pie and beverage. Cost is $6.50, and containers will be provided for takeout orders. No reservations are necessary. THURSDAY

St. Michael Orthodox Church, 125 Steel St., Youngstown, will serve a homemade Chinese lunch and supper from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Thursday. This week’s menu will feature soy sauce pork chop, five spice beef (not hot spice), and lo mein. The cost of the meal is $5. No reservations are necessary.

Woodworth Church of the Brethren, 30 E. Western Reserve Road, Poland, will sell takeout meatloaf dinners from 3:30 to 6 p.m. or until sold out. FRIDAY

Heritage Presbyterian Church, 1951 Mathews Road, Poland, will serve dinners of chili, bread, crackers and pie from 4 to 6:30 p.m. The cost is $5. Bowls of chili are $2.50, refills are $1, quarts are $4, a slice of pie is $2, whole pies are $7, and coffee or punch are 50 cents each.

Holy Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will sell potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. Orders will be taken from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Friday at 330-755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Orders may be picked up from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday. Containers will be provided.

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $9 for adults and $4.50 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 330-792-1005.

Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall, 526 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown, will sell potato and potato with kraut pirogi for $5 a dozen. Orders should be placed from 8 to 11 a.m. Thursday and 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday at 330-746-9528 and are to be picked up between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Friday. Advance sales only. Lunches will be available beginning at 11 a.m. Friday.

St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown. will sell potato and cheese pirogi. To order call 330-799-0084 after 6 p.m. Thursday or from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Pickup will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Cost is $5 per bag of one dozen (no containers necessary). Walk-ins are welcome. Patrons are asked to use the side entrance.

St. Anthony Church, 1125 Turin Ave., Youngstown, will be selling pizza and other Italian treats. Orders may be placed by calling 330-746-9577 from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. and must be picked up by 1 p.m.

St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will sell potato, prune and kraut pirogi. Cost is $4.50 a dozen. Phone orders may be made beginning at 8 a.m. at 330-755-1316, and orders can be picked up beginning at noon. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers. No walk-in orders will be available.

St. Luke Church, 5235 South Ave., Boardman, will bake Italian-style red and white pizza. Phone orders will be accepted at 330-788-0025 between 9-11:30 a.m. only. Pickup will be until 12:30 p.m. Price is $6 for regular or Brier Hill pizza, and $5 for white pizza.

St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main Street, New Middletown, will sell potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi. Orders can be called to 330-542-3525 from 7 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday.

St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, sells potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi. The cost is $5 a dozen. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and 8 to 11 Friday, based upon availability. Lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers and use the side entrance.

SATURDAY

Brookfield United Methodist Church, 6951 Grove St., will have an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children 6 to 12. Takeouts will be available. Calvary Baptist Church, 1463 Shields Road, Boardman, will sponsor a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. The menu includes meatballs, Italian bread, salad, dessert and beverage. Meals are $6 for adults, $3 for children 4-12, and free for those 3 and under. Takeouts available.

Girard Eagles and the I.F.H and A.R.C. clubs will sponsor a pasta dinner from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Girard Eagles Aerie, 26 W. Wilson Ave., Girard, as a benefit for Mark Estes, retired Girard police officer, who has cancer. There will be a basket raffle, a 50-50 raffle and a Wagon of Booze Raffle. The cost is $7 for adults, $4 for children 4-10, and free for those under 4. Meals include two meatballs, tossed salad, cake and coffee or tea. Veterans of Foreign Wars, Triangle Post 2799, 3161 E. South Range Road, New Springfield, will be selling Swiss steak dinners sponsored by the post’s scholarship committee. Dinners will be served from 4-7 p.m. Tickets purchased at the door are $7 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under.

SUNDAY

A spaghetti and meatball dinner will be from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at The Hickory Rib, 377 S. Ellsworth Ave., to benefit Alchemy Acres Animal Sanctuary. Dinners include salad or applesauce; coffee, tea, or lemonade and dessert. Carryouts and baked goods are available. There will be a 50/50 and a bucket raffle. Tickets are available in advance or at the door. A ticket is $7 and children under age 5 eat for free. People who donate a large can of dog food will receive a 50-cent discount on a ticket price. Jackson Township Fire Department Auxiliary will have a pancake and sausage breakfast and a bucket auction from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the administration building, 10613 Mahoning Ave. Meals for adults are $5 and meals for children 5-12 are $2.50. Those 4 and under eat free.

Sts. Mary and St. Joseph Church Ladies Guild will host a turkey dinner from noon to 3 p.m. at the church social hall, 120 Maple Drive, Newton Falls. Meals are $8 for adults, $4 for children 5 to 12, and free for those 4 and under. Carryouts will be available. There will also be a raffle.

Simon Road Church of God, 4750 Simon Road, Boardman, will be selling Parmesan-encrusted chicken dinners from 12:30 to 2 p.m. The takeout-only meals will be $6 for adults and $3 for children.

Sulmona Valley Club, 92 S. Bridge St., Struthers, will be serving homemade spaghetti dinners from noon to 4 p.m. Meals include meatballs, salad and dessert. The prices are $7 for adults and $4 for children. Carryouts will be available.

TUESDAY

Happy Hearts Junior Tamburitzans will sell hand-pulled apple and cheese strudels for the holidays. Baking instructions come with the frozen strudels. The cost is $8 each. Berlin Ellsworth Ruritan will be serving a Swiss steak supper from 4-7 p.m. Nov. 6 at Western Reserve High School, 13850 W. Akron-Canton Road, state Route 224, in Berlin Center. The cost of the dinner is $9 in advance and $9.50 at the door. Children 4-10 years of age, $4.50; children 3 and under eat free. Advance tickets may be purchased from any Ruritan member or at Denny’s Auto Supply, at 6999 S. Pricetown Road in Berlin Center, or by calling 330-547-4027. The dinner is family-style and all you can eat. Meals include mashed potatoes, corn, applesauce, dinner roll and dessert. There will also be a homemade baking contest just before the dinner. Canfield United Methodist Church, 27 S. Broad St., Canfield will have its 70th annual family-style turkey dinner with all the trimmings and pie on Nov. 8. Pre-sale seating only at 4:30, 5:30 and 6:30. Meals are $10 for adults and $6 for children under 10. Carryout dinner tickets are available. Tickets can be purchased at the church office.

Girard United Against Ruinous Dumping will serve baked chicken breast lunches from noon to 3 p.m. Nov. 7 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, S. State Street., Girard. The donation is $8.50 for adults, $4 for children 6-12, and free for kids under 5. The dinner is by reservation and features turkey and all the trimmings with pie for dessert, served family-style.
