NEW CASTLE, Pa. — An ambulance wrecked at 3:40 a.m. today, slightly injuring the driver and an emergency medical technician who was riding with him.

Christopher James Nagy, 29, of Sharpsville, Pa., and Hope Michelle Wright, 23, of Sharon, Pa., were on U.S. Route 422 at the U.S. Route 224 exit in Union Township when the ambulance left the road, said Pennsylvania State Police.

When he steered the vehicle back onto the road, Nagy overcompensated and the ambulance tipped onto the driver’s side, police said. It slid across three lanes of traffic into a grassy area.

The ambulance is owned by McGonigle Ambulance Co.
