Evansville 71, Butler 68, OT

INDIANAPOLIS

Denver Holmes hit a 3-pointer with 17.7 seconds remaining in overtime as Evansville rallied. Kenneth Harris led scored 17 points, Colt Ryan had 14 and Holmes 10 for the Purple Aces (3-2), who trailed by nine in the second half. Sheldon Mack had three free throws on the ensuing possession for the Bulldogs (3-2) after being fouled by Holmes with 7.2 seconds left in OT, but he only made the one.

Southern Illinois 56, Wright State 50

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill.

Gene Teague had game highs of 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead Southern Illinois in the Chicago Invitational Challenge. Mamadou Seck added 11 points for the Salukis (3-3). N’Gai Evans led the Raiders (3-3) with 11 points. Vaughn Duggins and Troy Tabler scored 10 each.

Loyola of Chicago 63, San Francisco 62

SAN FRANCISCO

Terrance Hill hit two free throws with 10 seconds remaining to lift Loyola of Chicago. Geoff McCammon hit 8 of 13 3-point attempts and finished with 26 points for the Ramblers (7-0), who overcame a 13-point deficit to remain unbeaten.

Cleveland State 69, St. Bonaventure 51

CLEVELAND

Jeremy Montgomery scored 18 points and Norris Cole 16 for unbeaten Cleveland State. Montgomery hit a 3-pointer to open the second-half scoring for the Vikings (7-0) and Cole followed with a pair of jumpers to widen a 24-23 halftime lead to 31-23. Cleveland State went on to lead by as many as 22 points. Andrew Nicholson led St. Bonaventure (3-2) with 14 points and 11 rebounds, and his 3-pointer put the Bonnies ahead by six, 21-15, with 4:34 until halftime. But Cleveland State outscored them 9-2 the rest of the half, taking the lead with 1 second left on Tim Kamczyc’s layup.
