There were hundreds of people moving through the halls of Austintown Middle School on Nov. 13, but they weren’t students.
Instead, the halls were filled with craft lovers, young and old, attending the PTA’s 27th annual AMS Craft Show. The middle school was packed with every seller one could imagine, including jewelry, food, Christmas crafts, home d cor, cosmetics, and clothes and accessories.
PTA president Laurie Gartland affirmed that the seller turnout came from a lot of hard work.
“As soon as we end one year, we start planning another. We’re working for this all year. And we work hard for projects that the middle school needs. Last year, it was $7,000 to the art department. This year, we’re hoping to buy new microphones for the drama department.”
Even after 27 years, the organizers of the craft show insist that it stays a local and community-minded event.
“We work to support local artists and sellers from Trumbull, Mahoning, and Columbiana counties, and western Pa.,” said event chair Ellen DiFrancesco.
