SALEM
In keeping with the “Churches of Salem” theme chosen for 27th edition of Salem’s Community Calendar, local artists have drawn pictures of 33 local churches that are reproduced on the 2011 calendars.
The calendars are now available for $8 at Chappel’s House of Frames, Friends Roastery, Kolby’s Manhattan Cleaners, The Ginger Jar, Salem Area Chamber of Commerce, Salem Historical Society Gift Shop, Quaker Corner and Yuhanick’s Cleaning.
The calendar project was initiated by Anne Farrington Buta in 1984 as a project to benefit the Salem Association for Gifted Education. Since her death in 2005, the calendar project has been continued in her honor by her family, and proceeds from calendar sales will benefit the Salem Episcopal Church of Our Savior.
